There are times I truly love my XJ. I performed my civic duty last night.
No SR20. Pull into the Chuy's parking lot to pick up chips and salsa on my way home from work. This lot has extremely limited parking, but has two take out spots and a parking deck across the street. An Infiniti Armada is parked in the right take out spot, but is nearly two feet over the line into the left takeout spot. I start to pull in the left spot, and the driver of the leather Armada opens her door, hops out on her cell. I blip the throttle a couple times to get her attention. She looks at me, looks at her parking, looks at me, then turns to go inside.
So, I pulled in. Leaving about 3 inches, at most, between her drivers door and my jeep. There are benefits to driving a narrow vehicle, with slab sides. You can place it perfectly anywhere. There are also benefits to driving a $500 180k mile piece of shit. It comes in handy when an entitled bitch in an $80,000 barge tries to be high and mighty.
When I came back out with my take-out in hand, the Luxoyaght was gone. There is no way she didn't have to jump the console to leave.

One of the fun benefits of driving a POS that you don't care about if it gets dinged. I always wanted to do that to a gull-winged car, but could never find an asshat parking like a fool with one.

Reason #5,234 that Jeep should always be the answer, not Miata.

Did the same thing to some guy in a Bentley backed into his spot, halfway over the line of a handicapped spot. There are benefits to driving a 2003 Subaru POS, even if I did have to crawl over my own console to make this guy do the same.

Chuy's you say? Are you in the ATX area and I just never realized it?
